You don’t need to be an experienced cake maker, buy a special cake tin or even have a traditional oven to make this sweet little festive Robin Cake to delight your family on a Christmas afternoon. It makes a great holiday project for the budding bakers in the household to join in the measuring and mixing, as well as the eating, for this one!

Inside this ever-so-simple Robin Microwave Chocolate Cake Kit, you’ll find a sachet of pre-weighed dry cake mix to help you create your jolly robin redbreast, it just needs you to add a few basic fresh ingredients to give it the moisture needed for the perfect mixture to make a scrumptious chocolate cake. And as little as 3 minutes in the microwave is enough to bake the cake.

Decoration is all sorted too – combine the chocolate icing mix with softened butter and spread it over the cooled cake – don’t worry about making it smooth. He’s got feathers! Then, roll out the red sugar paste, cut it to shape using the template from the box to make a lovely red breast, and fashion his little pointy red beak out of the left-over sugarpaste with your fingers.

Finally, draw on a couple of beady black eyes with the black icing tube and you’re done. Ta dah, instant teatime treat!
