Lakeland Farmhouse Chutney 120g

A gently-spiced tomato and apple chutney, ideal with mild cheeses, great as a dip with corn chips and lovely as a topping for cream cheese on toast, Claire also recommends it to complement cooked chicken or stirred into pasta.

Cumberland Chutney with Sneck Lifter Ale 130g (from Jennings Brewery, Cockermouth)

Flavoursome, spiced apple and date chutney that’s the perfect accompaniment to a ploughman’s lunch with full-flavoured cheeses, it’s spiced with ginger and mace and sweetened with demerara sugar – ingredients that were imported to the UK through the ports of Cumberland during the 18th century.

Cumberland Thick Cut Marmalade 130g

Made from bitter oranges and dark brown sugar, it’s gorgeous on hot buttered toast or crumpets and a lovely addition to porridge or vanilla ice cream.

A small family business making award-winning, all-natural preserves and condiments, they started in 2003 in their own farmhouse kitchen with Claire’s mother’s tried and trusted jam pan and the ethos that good preserves can only be created from top-quality ingredients– no artificial flavours, no artificial colours and no artificial preservatives – a principle that they stick to firmly to this day.
