Peanut Butter Caramel Truffles

These chocolates arrived today, very quickly as always with Lakeland. I had ordered them as part of a gift but the box is so small, I could not bring myself to give them to anyone! The box is small and contains 9 chocolates. 9 delicious chocolates! But price was £7.99 and I expected a larger box for the money, because 88p for one small choccie seems rather expensive. However the website does say 120g so it is my own fault for not taking into account how light that is! I rate the taste as 5 star but do bear in mind that the size is not what you may think of, when you think "box of chocolates".

The chocolates are nice. You can taste the peanut butter flavour distinctly, and there's an added nut on the top. Perfect size for us with 9 chocolates, and not too big, which is what I wanted And after deducting the cost of VAT & the box, I didn't think they were bad value, and made a nice little present.

Food is, of course, the ultimate in personal taste! But these weren't what I hoped for, which was a sweet and salty but mostly nutty experience. The nut on the top tasted stale, the chocolate was too thick and overpowered the filling, and the filling itself was too smooth and insufficiently salted. Not worth the cost and certainly not recommended unless you prefer heavily enrobed chocolate.
