Some people say that that the key to keeping bread fresh is to keep it in the dark... or in an airtight container... or in a linen bag. I use the Panasonic Bread Machine and since keeping the bread in this bag I find that it stays fresh for up to a week. The bread is always allowed to cool first.
Using this for the first time recently, the bag kept a loaf fresh for the 3 days of it's lifespan (fresh bread doesn't live too long in our house!). Even the exposed face of the bread remained soft during this time. Rather happy with the product overall.
I've had this bag for about 18 months now. Not only does the bread last longer in it, it also prolongs the life and well-being of my garden-grown peas and beans. They stay astonishingly fresh and crisp. I'm about to order another two, as my puppy just chewed up the current one!
Had trouble with mouldy bread but after a phone conversation with Lakeland I discovered that you mustn't put warm bread in or it goes mouldy. Also you can put wrapped bread in the bag. No need to take out of plastic.
Like many people using bread machines once cooled I had the dilemma of how to store. Solved with this very handy bag which does work if you follow the instructions as to fastening it. Fresh tasting & still soft. When it comes to mould I do know as I live in the country that every exposure to air has a big chance of picking up mould spores. Recommend.
