I love this grater, I have had one for the past three, maybe four years, and I am just about to replace it. I love the fact that you have a container for all the cheese etc grated, and that you can put a lid on if you don't use it all, or that you can serve from it directly. To be truthful I never found the finger guard useful, but in all the time I've had one I've only cut myself once.
I'm just about to order a replacement for mine, which only began to break up after several years, and continued to be usable for another year or so. In fact, it still is, but as I'm doing a Lakeland order today, I'll order its successor. I hope I get another 5-year one rather than one which breaks within weeks! PS Makes lovely thin cucumber slices!
I bought this some time ago and use it regularly for grating cheese and carrots. I pretty much only use the large grating part. I don't use the finger guard because I found it awkward. I have arthritis in my hands but I find this easy to use and convenient for storing excess grated cheese in the fridge. I just put the grater in the wash, pop on the lid and the job's done.Although I'm clumsy I've been lucky and not had the breakage problems other reviewers have.It was worth every penny.
I wouldn't be without this grater. Its easy to use without grating your fingers and ensures anything you grate goes into the container below avoiding mess and waste
I have had one of these for about 5 years I think and only just recently has the plastic snapped on the handle. Will definately get another one though.
