This is a great egg poacher cooks the egg perfectly in few mins. I always put a little butter/marg in the poacher before the egg. This will ensure there's no sticking. A vast improvement over the silicone versions which I have and no longer use.
I, too, had trouble at first, but I found that if you cover the saucepan with a lid after the first few minutes, the egg cooks faster and at around 4/5 mins makes a soft, but not runny yolk...Hope this helps.
I was very pleased with this poacher at first and wished I'd bought 2. cooks well, provided you make sure you oil it before use.BUT after regular (ie daily) use, the non-stick coating soon comes off and it has gone rusty. I therefore do not belief it is dishwasher safe.

I bought 4 of these egg poachers and they poach eggs beautifully BUT one reason I choose them was because they say dishwasher safe, so I am some what disappointed that each one has now gone rusty around the joint.

Egg sticks to poacher despite well oiling.Lip side is not large enough to clip on any of my saucepans. Also very slow to cook, pan needs a lid and eggs often break on removing due to sticking despite sliding a knife around rim.
