I have just purchased a 4x4 and needed a helping hand to reach the roof to wash it! I also needed something to get higher to put the bikes and roof box on the roof rack of the golf and the 4x4.I read these reviews and got the step stool. I had it for 3 weeks and have since bought another. It really is the business and folds flat to store in the boot when we go cycling. Brilliant. Thanks Lakeland.
I have had the stool for a few weeks now and use is nearly every day. I can open and close high windows, and clean them, also reach high cupboards; and sit on the stool to pull weeds in the garden and not struggle to get up again. Wish I had bought it ages ago. Now I am going to order one for my daughter.
I've had this stool for quite a few years now and originally bought it so I could reach high cupboards in the kitchen. However now we have a toddler who has been (theoretically) using the toilet now for over 6months, our stool is open all the time in our downstairs toilet. Its a perfect height to sit on and stand on to reach sinks and toilets. I can't comment on how easily it opens and closes as I am not sure I have ever collapsed it. I would say though once open it is secure, it has never collapsed and we've had no problems at all with little fingers getting stuck. The only problem I do have is that its light enough for our toddler to take it around the house and reach things she shouldn't! Like another reviewer, I'd much prefer it in another colour, as this is quite a drab blue. White or something a bit more exciting would be good (e.g. bright red or yellow),

I first bought one of these stools about 10 years ago and it has been invaluable for both myself (5'7") and my husband (6') ever since. Now we've moved house and have lots more high spaces to reach, and my husband has demanded more stools! Some basic care and attention is required when folding and unfolding, but that's a very small price to pay for such a robust and useful item. Long live the fold-up step-stool!
