Lakeland Corded Iron

This reminds me of the iron I got when I first left home - it irons and does what it says on the can, but it is not for making the job of ironing easier by performance. It is light, has a large water tank, and steams okay but its lightness makes it not the right weight to press, smooth and ease across your garments, which makes a lot of difference for a basket load of ironing various types of fabrics. For me this is something you grab to just iron a few items, and it's not practical for my household ironing chore. It feels like an iron for small light loads.

I bought this iron originally to replace an old heavy iron and wanted something easy and light. It is lighter but cannot use as the sole plate drags and does not glide smoothly, very disappointed as normally love Lakeland products. Not fit for purpose which is frustrating and feel upset that I spent what little money I have on a product that does not do what it should. I am now using my old iron.

Poor product. Sole plate poor. Iron does not glide over fabric, hence result is not smooth Steam settings are barely visible. Steam spray buttons stiff and space between these and the cord too short making handling comfortable. Very disappointed as I was replacing a Lakeland steam iron bought at least 10 years ago and this seemed a good sale offer. Iron will be returned at great inconvenience as was collected from the only store that I can get to.

Bought to replace my previous Lakeland iron which had worked well for over 10 years. The the cord on this model is much shorter which means it does not reach the end of the ironing board. The iron is light so it slips around on dry fabrics but doesn't give a smooth result. Also the water spray/steam shot buttons are very bulky which prevents me getting a good grip. Husband who does majority of iron agrees.

The iron itself is good but I was really surprised to find such a short cable on it: it doesn’t reach the end of my board (standard size) to do shirts etc so I need to use an extension. Not ideal.
