Lakeland Corded Iron

Ordered online and am extremely pleased with it. Not too heavy like some irons. The steam function is brilliant. Got through my ironing in half the time. You won't be disappointed if you order this iron. Superb price too

I think it is one of the few irons on the market which is the lightest weight. That is the reason I purchased this. The push buttons on the top are slightly stiff, other than that all is fine. If there was a criticism then it would be a struggle to see the water level; but that is all. Great value for the money, and a brilliant warrantee.

The iron itself is good but I was really surprised to find such a short cable on it: it doesn’t reach the end of my board (standard size) to do shirts etc so I need to use an extension. Not ideal.

This reminds me of the iron I got when I first left home - it irons and does what it says on the can, but it is not for making the job of ironing easier by performance. It is light, has a large water tank, and steams okay but its lightness makes it not the right weight to press, smooth and ease across your garments, which makes a lot of difference for a basket load of ironing various types of fabrics. For me this is something you grab to just iron a few items, and it's not practical for my household ironing chore. It feels like an iron for small light loads.

Bought to replace my previous Lakeland iron which had worked well for over 10 years. The the cord on this model is much shorter which means it does not reach the end of the ironing board. The iron is light so it slips around on dry fabrics but doesn't give a smooth result. Also the water spray/steam shot buttons are very bulky which prevents me getting a good grip. Husband who does majority of iron agrees.
