Dry:Soon Drying Pod

Product number: 53211

Move over radiators and tumble dryers: the Dry:Soon Drying Pod’s in town, and it gets clothes dry so quickly, quietly and efficiently, there’ll be no more draping need-them-dry-now laundry over radiators ever again.

Fast, efficient clothes drying

We sold a version of this incredibly efficient electric clothes dryer a few years ago, and Lisa, our Home Buyer and in-house laundry expert, is delighted to bring back this updated version. Costing just 15p an hour to run, it works the same way, blowing hot air through clothes on hangers to dry them gently but oh-so quickly, but has been developed to make the job faster, quieter, and more efficient than ever.

A lot of hot air… but in a good way!

Getting your clothes dry much faster than most electric airers, and far more gentle on fabrics than the rough and tumble of a conventional tumble dryer, the pod has a fan built into the base that heats air up to 70°C and then blows it up into and dries your clothes. Perfect for shirts, blouses, linen clothes and delicate fabrics, but comfortably able to dry thicker fabrics like jumpers and denim too. When we put it through its paces we found that lightweight fabrics dry in less than an hour, while jeans took around 2 hours. And while you might think that such an efficient fan would be noisy, it runs quietly and discreetly at less than 52 decibels.

Dries up to 12 items at a time

Just pop your garments on hangers, hook them onto the rail at the top, fit the zip-fronted fabric cover around them, then switch it on. There’s room for a dozen hangers inside and, because your clothes hang straight down while they dry, they’ll have few creases and need very little, if any, ironing.

Good-looking, lightweight and easy to store

Most clothes airers are designed with utility rather than style in mind – but why shouldn’t you have both? The retro-styled, tripod design of this lightweight aluminium pod sets it apart from most airers, but it’s far from a triumph of style over content – those three legs keep it really stable, while helping to keep the weight down too, so it’s easier to move around.

Timer function with auto shut-off

The optional timer can be set for up to 3 hours, and will automatically switch the fan off when its time is up, freeing you up to get on with other tasks around the house – or even relaxing! And if you want to check on progress, you can just switch it on and leave it running until things have dried to your satisfaction.

Dry:Soon Heated Airers: a revolution in laundry

When we introduced our first heated tower airer in 2008 we knew it was a winner, but we weren’t prepared for just how quickly it would race to the top of the bestsellers’ list – or how long it would stay there. Since then we’ve not only developed our Standard range but also introduced a Deluxe range, a Drying Pod and in response to customer suggestions, added a selection of handy accessories to make them the best airers ever.

Dry:Soon heated airers cost just pennies an hour to run. They’re also much kinder to clothes than tumble drying and neater and far more efficient than laying laundry over your radiators.

In addition to the Drying Pod, we offer a wide range of designs and sizes with folding shelves that can be positioned to suit your needs: you can dry T-shirts, socks or larger items over the rungs; lay delicate clothes flat to avoid stretching, or hang sheets and big towels over the top without them touching the floor.

Made from light yet robust aluminium, Dry:Soon airers are easy to move around and fold down for storage, ready to be pressed into action throughout the winter months, or whenever the weather isn’t cooperating.

"Wouldn't be without this!"

This is a very economical way of drying clothes which don't go in the tumble dryer and the weather doesn't allow you to line dry. Provided you don't overload it, the washing comes out beautifully soft and dry. My only criticism is that you cannot buy a spare cover. Any chance of this happening, Lakeland?

"Fantastic invention"

star star star star star

I’ve read some reviews saying couldn’t smell fabric conditioner after drying I use fairy non biological washing liquid and fairy fabric conditioner and got to say I think it intensifies the fragrance. After using this on clothes, towels, super king size bedding I’ve got to say I wouldn’t be without it. Am going to buy further ones for my children living in flats. This will be perfect in summer when no radiators on plus I hate having radiators covered in washing so perfect solution.

"Zip solved"

Position of the zip: don't completely zip down the long zip, but stop at the start of the curve. Slip the cover down over the heater bit and load the pod, then pull the cover carefully up to enclose the contents, and it's then easy to finish zipping up the long zip.

"Couldn’t be without now"

Unfortunately we don’t have a dryer so only have radiators, an airer or washing line in the warmer months. I love my drying pod, just hang up your items, switch round the dial and it starts drying. Not too noisy, sounds just like a fan. Can be folded down if needed.

"Outstanding buy"

This drying pod is amazing. It dries everything really well and in relatively little time. I wouldn't stack it full as may be possible and i'd suggest spacing out shirts, tops, towels etc. If I dry sheets or duvet covers thread through two or three hangers to space out and they dry really well. Do not have anything hanging low that may make contact with the heater probably not safe. I fantastic piece of kit that takes up little space and can be collapsed down really easily. I'd advise to buy hangers that Lakeland sell with 'gripper' ends.
