Our buyer, Lisa, loves this Leifheit Pop-Up Airer. She can’t persuade her husband to have a permanent rotary airer in their garden, so this ingenious little airer is the ideal compromise. It pops up easily, can be used indoors and out, and has a generous 14 metres of drying space. So far, so fab. But there’s more.
Easy up
Needing only one hand to open and close it, simply push the top handle down to open it and lock it into place, and pull up the green collar to close. Standing firm on its four legs so there’s no danger of it toppling over (but do avoid gustier days if you’re using it outside!), this lightweight and portable compact airer is just the right height to load comfortably without stretching and is ideal if you don’t have the room for an always-there rotary airer.
Load up
Providing 14 metres of useful drying space, with plenty of room between the rungs, it's ideal as an extra airer when you’ve got a larger load to get dry, and just the thing for smaller homes too.
Indoors and out
Perfect for a conservatory, landing, bedroom, garage or even in the garden on still days – you can move it around to follow the sun or bring it in if the weather changes – it’s also great for camping and caravanning as it comes with a drawstring bag for easy, compact storage.

I love it. Quick & easy to pop up. No reaching to hang the washing and pegs are not required unless it's exceptionally windy. Can move it around to follow the sun. It's not the best for larger items, but these can be draped over the top. Great for people who don't have a washing line or rotary and like to dry outdoors. Also for people in short term accommodation. Wouldn't be wihout it.
This is a nice airer but as one customer points out it is too short for some longer items.I often like to hang my husbands shirts on hangers then onto the line but the sleeves dangle on the floor. An higher airer would be brilliant. Joan Seaman
This is brilliant, so much so that after I got mine, I bought my 2 daughters one each. One uses her alongside her rotary airer outside. It's brilliant for inside the house and outside. It's much more stable than the freestanding rotary airer although I do like that one too, just not as much as this. Now if they could just do a bigger and taller version of this, it would be a best seller.
It is lightweight, portable and for use in- or outside but I am very disappointed with it. It is expensive and the up/down mechanism doesn't operate easily. The lines are very thin nylon which mark clothes. The lines have sagged horribly, making most of it useless. I didn't even dry jeans or trousers on it: too short! They take very little weight, too. In the booklet, I found each meter of line can take only 1kg/2.2lbs. This was/is not on the product description. The booklet photograph has jeans and a towel hanging: Hah, laughable! A waste of money, and out for recycling.
