Huskup Reusable Eco Cup – Pebbles 400ml

Product number: 53165

What kind of takeaway cup looks good, lasts for years and biodegrades at the end of its life? A Huskup Reusable Takeaway Mug.

Inspired by the natural earth, Huskup’s Pebbles design is a monochrome twist on seashore pebbles. Giving the impression of being individually hand-printed, the pebble motifs on this coffee mug give it the same tactile charm as its namesakes.

Part of the Huskup Mono collection, designed by Donna Sarah.

Great alternative to single-use plastic

We’re all becoming more aware of the damaging environmental impact of single-use plastic products, and that includes the millions (make that billions) of disposable, non-recyclable coffee cups that end up in landfill all over the world. Huskup decided to do something about it and make their daily coffee-shop cup of Joe a bit more planet-friendly. Their reusable coffee mug is made from rice husk – a natural and sustainable by-product of rice milling, and it’s even dishwasher safe!

Truly reusable

Attractive, durable, dishwasher and microwave safe and long-lasting, the Huskup Travel Mug comes with a recyclable silicone lid and sleeve so it’s good on the go or for filling up at your local coffee shop. Some coffee shops now offer a discount if you bring your own cup, and even if your local doesn’t, it’s good to know you’re doing your bit.

And when it does eventually reach the end of the road your Huskup Takeaway Mug can be put on your compost heap where it will simply biodegrade over time.

What is rice husk?

Rice husk is the hard, protective outer cover of the grain and keeps the grains safe during the growing season. Traditionally difficult for farmers to dispose of, it’s now become the secret ingredient in a huge variety of earth-friendly uses and products – there are even power plants in Asia that are now 100% fuelled by rice husks!

BPA free.

Silicone sleeve and lid are recyclable.

Please note: Huskup Mugs are not indestructible, but with good care they should last years rather than months. As with most things, the more you use them, the faster they'll wear out - and though they can be washed in the dishwasher and used in the microwave, doing so will reduce their life.

"Eco cup"

Bought as part of a pack this is great to have handy. We keep ours in the car ready for a take away coffee. The cup keeps the drink hot and we are doing our bit for the environment!

"Nice design but gets very hot!!"

Got this travel mug as part of an Eco bundle. It's mind-boggling as mug feels like plastic but is made from husk. Rubberised lid is okay. Fit is fairly loose (don't know if it would be safe on bumpy train ride). Plus it is a permanent opening so could leak easily. Also be warned the outside does get very hot when first putting in hot water and the "band" around mug gets very got too. I don't think I'll be using it for my travels but it's nice for use on garden to stop floes/insects getting in.

"Great cup"

It looks like plastic, it feels like plastic but it isn’t plastic. A great size cup, and I have used it a good few times now in coffee shops. We are trying to use less plastic and trying to make sure we buy things that can be reused, so this cup is helping. Plus saving a few pennies using it in coffee shops, so a win win.

"Attractive but sensible"

This was a really attractive cup for either male or female. It was made very plain on the packaging that it was not plastic. Not heavy but stable when placed down on any surface. I would recommend.

"Husk cup"

Excellent cup use it everyday, shame the lid doesn't close though for traveling.
