Corn Skewers

Don't hesitate - they really are cool to touch after boiling and make gnawing on a cob a "tidy" affair ! They have to be screwed into the cob ends, so if you have hand problems, consider this. Safer for children than the "spike" variety sold in shops. One of mine is missing - think it was thrown out with the husks / cobs ? :(

These simple little corn skewers can't be beaten! I have some of these corn skewers which are still going strong after many years and some wood and metal ones bought not that long ago to replace some of the these plastic ones that had got lost. Every single one of the wooden handles has parted company with the metal skewer bit. They might look more stylish but don't do the job nearly as well as these. I find these screw easily into the cobs either before or after cooking, stand up to boiling water and do not break! They also last forever, if your family doesn't lose them!

These corn skewers are fab! I was about to buy the plastic 'corn' with metal spike type from another store when I decided to check lakeland's option first and, oh am I glad! I believe they are a lot safer to use as they stay in place---metal spikes and bamboo skewers tend to slide off. I put one on each end before I cooked the cobettes and my 2 year old daughter very happily munched away (feeling all grown up I would think!). Thank you, Lakeland, for yet another nifty little item.

I have been looking everywhere for sweetcorn skewers, did not find any, very pleased I tried Lakeland, they are absolutely brilliant especially being able to cook the cobs on them, I did not know that till I read the package, just screw them in before you start, plus they do not burn your fingers, very nifty and I highly recommend them! Thank you Lakeland very much.I am now looking for the little dessert cake forks/spoons cannot find them anywhere with, an idea for you Lakeland!

Very useful. You may find you need a bigger pan to do whole cobs due to the extra length once the handles are on. I use them for 1/2 cobs.
