Summer Salad Seed Roll

I used one of these sheets in a raised bed and was initially sceptical, as for the first few weeks nothing seemed to be happening at all. Then suddenly, small shoots appeared that eventually burst through the film and grew into the most amazing salad leaves! I had full rows and could barely eat it all before it had bolted! Best salad crop ever - I would definitely use again. I think the trick is water well and persevere for the first few weeks; it looks as if nothing is happening but this is followed by accelerated growth. Takes longer to establish than sowing seed, but well worth it.

I bought two of these last year and whilst the first one blew off to begin with which was our fault for not covering the edges properly, we managed to salvage some of the seeds left and by the end of the summer we had so many lettuce we were giving them away. They were delicious too and I have bought another for this year. I saw they only had 3 stars and thought I better give my happy story as well.

I have found this product a good one. With the wet early summer it was slow to get going but my salad harvest now is great and very tasty! So sorry you won't be stocking it again! PS the seeds sprouted at different times due to the different varieties included. Once they all got going it was thick growth.

I bought this last year, as a first attempt to grow anything! I was really impressed. I had salad 'on-tap' right from the moment of planting (March time) to the end of August. I bought another later in the year, and am buying the rest of this year's salad today!

Had a great crop within 8 weeks in the Lakeland wicker basket. top layer peeled off easily
