"The BEST air purifier there is!"
Not only are these lamps *absolutely* gorgeous, but they also work better than ANY other type of air freshener. I've tried them all, candles, reeds, electric plugs, whatever else - nothing beats this. I'd suggest doing a search on the history of "fragrance lamps" to see how the method makes sense - they were originally used in hospitals and mortuaries to purify the air! One has to see one of these lamps in real life to be really able to appreciate the sheer beauty of them. Lots of small coloured mosaic bits of glass that reflect differently, depending on the light shining on them. They make a fabulous ornament when not in use. Mine seems darker than the one in the photo, but each one is slightly different as I believe they're individually made.I'm not at all fond of lavender which is the only spare fragrance Lakeland unfortunately sell for these lamps, but I like the Fresh Linen one that comes with this one. I managed to find some other Ashleigh & Burwood fragrances, sometimes also called "oils" - it's not actually an "oil" at all but alcohol based. They're not cheap but one doesn't need to use a lot at once, even if you fill the lamp and nearly empty the bottle, as you only need to burn the lamp for about 20 mins at a time. Ashleigh & Burwood also do an unfragranced oil. The initial flame one has to light can be quite tall and might make it look scary at first, but it does quickly die down. So best to keep it away from children or pets or nearby curtains. I really can't recommend these lamps enough!
