I purchased this item as I had visions of a cascade of flowers beneath my sitting room window. My husband was putting it together and commented that it seemed pretty flimsy and he's right - a huge disappointment. I doubt it would be strong enough to take more than the smallest and lightest of pots. Sadly, I had to return the product.
