Butterfly Solar Light String

These really are very lovely & not as fragile as I thought they would be. The only thing to be aware of is that the lead from the solar panel to the first butterfly isn't very long & this may affect were you will be able to place them

My mother in law bought these first and they looked so pretty in her front garden. So once again I copied her and bought myself some! They look lovely lit up in the garden, different to anything I've seen elsewhere.

I have read the other reviews and think it might be helpful to say that they do need batteries. Remove panel back with computer sized phillps screwdriver to locate battery. It is an odd size but Lakeland helped me to find a supplier. Website www.solarlec.co.uk they are expensive but necessary if you want those butterflies to shine again. Mine are working and give me a lot of pleasure. Sadly I cannot award any more than three stars due to the effort needed to locate batteries. I think Lakeland should be able to stock the necessary accessories rather than leave customers 'in the dark'.

I bought these in March for my parents wedding anniversary. The packaging was pretty dull, but they were still very well received and looked lovely when lit. Annoyingly though, they have already stopped working. These aren't cheap for what is essentially a string of fairy lights and I would have expected them to last far longer than this.

Like most of the other reviewers say, these worked beautifully for the first summer but now don't work at all, despite the fact that I live in the South of France where we get plenty of sun to 'power' them. I will see if we can replace the battery as recommended by another reviewer. I have to say that I think the Lakeland page is a little misleading as it shows 3 reviews, one a 1* and two 5* both of which are at least a year old - had I reviewed these straight away I would have given them 5* but now they rate only 1*. A great shame as they really are very pretty when they work.
