The first time I used them, one of the "spikes" broke as I pushed it into the soil. They're very delicate; too delicate really, in my view. On a trial run, I watered my pot plant thoroughly one morning and by the time I got home from work that same evening, the ball was already empty. So I'm not sure where the "up to ten days" comes from !! Obviously, they're better than nothing and the balls themselves are very decorative. But would I buy any more ? No, I don't think so.
I'm sorry that you'd been disappointed with the performance of the watering balls. I'll be in touch.
The stems are too fragile and the glass quality is poor. Mine snapped half way up the stem when I was pulling them out of the soil. I have a glass grinder (for stained glass) so hoped I could repair them but the glass was too brittle and broke up as I was trying to make the ends safe.
Thanks for your review. I'm sorry to hear of the problem you'd had with the watering ball, I'll be in touch shortly.
I bought these as they seemed a good solution for holidays. Tey are hopeless. The water just flows out of them within a day or less. I also bought the Self Watering Spike, which works really well as it has a regulating valve. Would not recommend as they are a waste of money. (They do however look nice !)

I love the idea of these orbs and I've had some before, through another company. I bought these thinking they'd be as good in terms of quality but unfortunately, they are not. Out of the 3 packages I purchased (2 orbs in each), 4 of them are useless. The idea is that the water slowly drips out as the soil dries and provides water to the plant/flower over time. The 4 that are unusable are because the opening to the orb is nearly the size of my pinkie finger. The water immediately flows out of the orb. The two that work are fantastic!! Wish it was more than 2 out of 6 though...
