I have had a bee log for a few years and didn't get any bees in it. I left it in the same place and last year it was used by the bees. They put a leaf on the entrance to the tube after they go in. I hope they come back this year.So don't give up, you may find it gets used soon
Billiant, but make sure you postion it in a sunny, wind free place. Great to watch the bees work the log.
I love this product so much that I have also bought one for my dad and brother for their birthdays. Our bee log has been filled up with small balls of mud and petals so I assume there are eggs in the pipes. The bees are in and out all of the time. It's great to know that I am doing my small bit for the environment as long as they don't bite me!
Bought this as a present for my father in law. Think he likes it. Very impressed with lakelands gift wrapping service, well worth the money.
This looks really great hanging in our garden. It is also very attractive. Despite reading and following all the instructions to the letter, not one bee has used this log! The bees are quite happy to ignore it and just land on the flowers instead. I feel quite foolish spending this amount of money on just a decorative, albeit expensive item.
