"Stunning & Practical ~ what more can you ask!"
I purchased 2 of these beauty's to replace some wooden obelisks that hubby had pinched to fix his shed without my knowledge. I was so impressed that I have since ordered another 4.I had spent a good deal of time searching for alternative supports for my beautiful Clematis, sadly all being either unsuitable or much too expensive. Then I spotted these~ I honestly didn't expect them to offer much support but I'm truly amazed.The powder coated centre pole was very good quality, simple to put together & looked great. I used mine in huge wooden planters filled with ordinary general purpose compost, because of this I did find the pegs provided didn't seem to hold as they would in denser garden soil as in the photo. I solved this problem so easily by screwing 8 galvanised screws evenly around the planter (you can't see them) and hooking the cord loop over these. I've also done this carefully with large plastic planters. They look amazing and the plants just love them. I have had so many favourable comments from friends & family.This is their third season & they look as good as new, even the ones left out all year round. I also live right on the coast & surprisingly, the strong winds & the salt air doesn't seem to have affected them at all. At the end of the season I dismantled the ones with my sweet peas & annual climbers & popped them back into the little pouch they arrived in saving so much storage space. (Little tip here, lay all 8 strings out together & tie together in a very loose knot at both the top & bottom to stop them tangling, makes for a much easier life when you come to use them next time. ;O)
