Turboflame® Multi-Task Lighter

Its more like a thermal lance than an ordinary lighter, great for all sorts of lighting jobs. For instance I use mine to light up the BBQ, lanterns, candles as well as my gas grill - in style - and I have to keep an eye on it since a few of my friends are very keen to have one without waiting for Christmas! Just remember to take out all gas/air before refilling them - according to the manufacturer this process (bleeding the air from the gas reservoir) is a must before each refill. Also don't forget to use the correct brand of gas - not ordinary supermarket gas. After the second time I ran out of gas I refilled mine and it was not working - it sat in a corner until I read the instructions and emailed the manufacturer! I learned my lesson now - all butane lighters trap air which must be taken out before refill, and since then my Turboflame has become a reliable and handy tool for burning all sorts of things - even my CC receipts are singed in a second! But again don't forget to use the right brand of gas and bleed before refilling them.

We do a lot of camping and this lighter is perfect for lighting the fire. Often you need to have a flame for more than just a couple of seconds while you wait for the fire to light and the long reach on the lighter means that I don't get burned in the process. Discharged it when it arrived then refilled it and no problems with it lighting or staying lit.

I am thrilled to bits with this lighter. I followed the filling instructions carefully, in particular, the bleeding of the lighter, and it has worked perfectly. It starts every time - much more convenient than matches. I have been using it to light my hob and oven for a few weeks and have not had to refill it yet. I have not yet used it outside, but the flame is very robust and I expect it to perform well even in windy situations. The quality of the build is also excellent.

My husband wanted this and it is really good does what it says. Easy to use

I am very disappointed with this lighter. I got it for lighting my bee smoker as it is supposed to be good for outdoor use. It just will not ignite, may be successful one time out of ten but no more & if it does light it does not stay alight for more than a second or two. Having read the previous review I double checked to make sure it was properly bled but that made no difference. I also think that the safety catch in the middle of the ignition switch makes it awkward to use.
