SlugX Trap

Product number: 50617

Good news for gardeners! Finally, a slug and snail trap so effective, you'll see a dramatic reduction in just a single night.

Without poisons or chemicals harmful to wildlife, the trap relies on good old beer. But unlike the traditional saucer, the alcoholic fumes build under the secure lid to create an intoxicating lure that will very quickly see off scores of the sozzled slugs. And because it doesn't need to be semi-buried, it's just as useful on the patio or decking.

"Wasn't impressed"

star star_border star_border star_border star_border

Not impressed with the slug trap. My garden has been overrun with slugs so plenty of opportunity to try this out. Bought a good beer and didn't catch a one. Tried different methods, fresh beer overnight, then thought leave the beer a couple of nights, it still didn't attract a slug. Binned....

"Diehard slugs"

Have had some success with the trap which has attracted several slugs and snails. I opened the trap and thought great I have success only to find that they started to move and attempt to escape. Aren't they supposed to die?

Thanks for placing your review. We'd recommend leaving the lid on a little longer before checking the slugs. It does sound like you do have some diehard slugs.

"Amazing"

Just went to buy another one of these and unfortunately they are not available at the moment. This is an amazing product, it does exactly what it says it will. This has drawn in many pest from my garden - slugs, earwigs, moths being the most common. I would definitely recommend.

"Not one caught in two weeks!!"

Whoever thought of this idea are laughing all the way to the bank! Quite honestly, that is what I thought about this snail and slug trap each morning when I went out to see if any were in there. The beer I used was real! Each evening I looked with a torch and saw them munching my marigolds. I moved the trap nearer and still none were caught. I had to throw the flowers away. We bought pellets and scattered them nearby and next morning we found a lot of dead snails and slugs. The pellets work! I am going to see if I can buy any more bedding plants to replace the lost ones.

"Success! Revenge is sweet."

This works. This works incredibly well. I placed it among my baby runner bean plants filled with the cheapest supermarket lager I could find and the next morning I found eight of these slimy rotters dead. I was jubilant! Mind you I still use pellets to get rid of snails but with an attack on two fronts I'm winning the war. Woo! Hoo!
