"A money saver"

star star star star star

From reading other reviews, opinion is certainly divided about this product. I'm a supporter, and have used one successfully for ages. I feel so virtuous when I use the herbs and guiltily remember all those half packs I wasted. I've even kept basil in mine. Thanks to others for the tips on spring onions and asparagus - I, too, found this works. I've been inspired to try celery( yes - it keeps crisp and fresh if you trim and wash it first) and wonder if a trimmed little gem lettuce would keep in there. I'll let you know. Actually - I don't unscrew mine and fill and refresh it from the top, when empty. Am I missing a trick?

"excellent, but treat it gently"

star star star star star

I have had a herb keeper since it was introduced and it works very well. You have to be careful when taking the body apart so that you don't stress the two parts which screw together, as I can imagine that the body will crack if you don't treat it with a little gentleness and try to line up the two parts correctly. Place the herbs down to the base and then fill to the water line. Wash the herbs really well before you put them into the herb keeper as little pieces of grit may damage the acrylic. If you find the herb keeper is not working perfectly, your refrigerator may not be cold enough.

"Disappointing"

I'm also disappionted with this product. I've only just tried to use it after having it in the cupboard for some while. Sadly it will be going back there. It is not easy to screw the two parts together once you have put the herbs in the water - you have to feed the larger part over the herbs and screw to two together, which then twists the herbs around and tangles them up. It is also tricky to extract a few sprigs from the top without bringing the rest with it. It seemed like a good idea, but I think I will go back to growing herbs on the windowsill, it's much easier.

"Going Green"

I've used this product for several months and I've been amazed how fresh it keeps herbs. I make a lot of curries so use a lot of fresh corriander which wilted very quickly in the summer, so now, using the herb keeper it lasts several weeks. With the price supermarkets charge for fresh herbs I reckon mine has paid for itself. I am about to buy a second one as a gift. In one of the reviews there was a good tip to use it for spring onions and asparagus, perhaps I'll buy another two.

"Disappointing"

star star_border star_border star_border star_border

I have had my herb keeper a little while now and at first was quite pleased with it, despite taking up a fair bit of room in the door of the fridge. I have been filling it up from the top but unbeknown to me ,the base has gradually been unscrewing itself so when it was last removed from the fridge, the 2 parts separated and the base fell on the floor and cracked ,rendering it useless. I won't be replacing it -pity though as it seemed a good idea initially.

I'm sorry to hear that the product turned out to be faulty, I can understand how disappointing this must be. We'll be in touch to put things right for you.
