Is your soap always slipping into the sink or bath, or leaving them caked in bits after use? We’ve got the eco-friendly answer in the form of this soap rest from LoofCo. Made in Egypt from two layers of sustainable loofah stitched together, it makes an absorbent and stable rest for your bar between uses to keep your surfaces clean and tidy.
Aerated to allow excess water to drain away, this long-lasting rest can be composted when it finally wears out. To keep it fresh, give it the occasional rinse and let it dry out before using it again. It can even go in your washing machine.
Packaging is compostable too.
About the loofah plant
Loofahs are a quick-growing vine from the cucumber family that absorbs CO2 as it grows. LoofCo’s loofahs are carefully grown then harvested, peeled, washed, de-seeded and sun-dried before being skilfully turned into eco-friendly products.

After looking for a suitable soap rest I found this one and was delighted with it and still am. The only negative is the black mould which quickly appears. I don't know if this is a characteristic due to it being a natural product but I have to regularly steep this in bleach which is not ideal. Otherwise a great product.

Thanks for your review. A spray of Blitz that Mould or soaking the loofah in a solution of equal parts of vinegar and water will help to remove the mould.

This is a lovely idea- a natural soap rest that is compostable at the end of its life, however the end of its life has come quicker than I expected! After 2 weeks use, my soap rest is full of black mould. I do not have problems with damp or mould in any other area of my bathroom, as it is well ventilated, so this was a surprise. Very disappointing. Service from Lakeland when I bought the product was excellent though. Delivery was fast and free.

Had it for about 2 weeks and now full of black and red mould. Search continues.

Thank you for placing your review. To maintain, periodically rinse, squeeze out excess water and soap residue, and allow it to dry between uses. To remove mould, we'd suggest soaking the loofah in a solution of equal parts of vinegar and water, then dry out before use.
