An ideal gift for any party animal, cocktail fan or gin enthusiast, and certain to pep up girls’ nights in, mums’ nights out or gathering of gin-loving friends, Gin Pong is the gin-based drinking game that brings a touch more fun to the newest revival in fortunes of this aromatic sundowner – if that’s possible to imagine.
Streets ahead of Beer Pong, this more sophisticated version is ideal for anyone who can’t imagine being seen with a tankard in their hand, but doesn’t want to be left out of the fun. Bucketloads of class, with no risk of broken glass…
Basic Rules of Gin Pong
Add a ‘suitable’ amount of gin, G&T or a gin-based cocktail to each of the 12 green-tinted, gold-rimmed plastic tumblers and then split into teams – it can be played one-on-one as well if you prefer not to share the fun! The teams choose whether to play with the lime- or lemon-coloured ping pong balls, stand at each end of the table and take it in turns to try to throw or bounce a ball into any of the opposition’s glasses. If a ball goes in, your opponent has to drink the contents of that glass, and the game ends when all of one team’s glasses have been drained. Of course, there are bound to be regional and family variations to the rules, so we’ll leave the details up to you and your guests… please remember to drink responsibly, and let the games be-gin!
