With one for each letter of the alphabet, together with their point value, these fun Scrabble-inspired cookie cutters stamp out ready-to-bake biscuit or ready-to-decorate fondant 'tiles', perfect for spelling out a message for a special someone or finishing off a birthday cake with a personal touch.
Simple to use, just press the selected cutter firmly into your dough or icing to create a square tile, then flip the cutter over and press to emboss with the letter and number. I received these as a Christmas present and I've had great fun using these! At first I thought it might be tricky to remove the shortbread from the cutters but by wiggling (technical term) opposite corners of the (floured) cutters they popped out without fuss. A must-have for all board game loving families! Susie
Ideal present for scrabble fans play and eat in one go. Fun for kids too.
A fantastic idea poorly engineered. Despite various attempts I couldn't get the dough to release from inside the cutters. Finally, I cut the dough into rectangles. The cutters made good letter imprints on the biscuits, though. I made shortbread biscuits to go with a pudding served to friends using letters appropriate to each friends' name. No-one wanted to eat the biscuits as they wanted to take them home to show their other halves - until I reassured them that I had also made spares! A better design would be a cutting grid to cut out the biscuits as once imprinted they looked really good.
Thank you for placing your review. We're sorry to hear of your disappointment. It's best to have the pastry chilled and try dipping the cutter into flour before using and it should drop out with a tap,then flip over to the other side to emboss the letter. We'll be in touch shortly.
I was really looking forward to receiving this set. However it is very disappointing. The cutters are flimsy and so shallow that it is not possible to cut cookies of the recommended thickness. I have used the set once and several are cracked. It is also very difficult to remove the squares once you have attempted to cut them. Using them as stamps to impress the letters is also awkward. Basically a lovely idea very badly realised.
Thanks for placing your review. We're sorry the cutters haven't been as expected. We'll be in touch shortly to put thing right. We would recommend greasing the inner part of the cutter to help release the mix before baking. This will also help if cutting a thicker mix.
Was so excited to receive these (bought an extra set for a friend), but was so disappointed. I guess I was expecting 3 inches, not 3cm, these were tiny compared to what I expected, also they are not a true cutter. You have to cut the dough and then turn the cutter over (if you can get the dough out) and then impress the letter on the cookie. Very disappointed and I am returning both sets
