Simple to put together, each cardboard speaker can be personalised using the three coloured felt tips provided to make a truly one-of-a-kind gift. Containing everything you need to make two fully functioning stereo speakers, the kit comes with a jack lead suitable for any electronic device.

"Assemble the boxes but not the electronic parts."

I bought these for a 14 year old thinking there would be some assembly element to the electronics in the speakers themselves but the only making element is inserting the tabs into the 2 cardboard cut outs to make cubes then decorating them - on rereading the description that is my interpretation although it could be read both ways. A little disappointing as I think these will be a bit young for him, although as I bought them in the post Christmas sale they were not expensive.
