6 Eco Friendly 'Fill Your Own' Christmas Crackers

love these crackers have them every year perfect

Over the years I have bought many boxes of crackers increasing in price so our guests didn't get cheap plastic and totally useless gifts although it gave us a laugh! This year decided to buy these. Yes they still have a flimsy paper hat and a corny joke but at least we can put some unusual individual age related gifts inside. As you can imagine we haven't used them yet so don't know if they 'snap'.

I have had fill your own crackers before and they were all better quality than these which seemed to want to come apart in my hands when i tried to fill them and the gold bands at the ends were properly attached to the main cracker. They seemed to be made of very thin paper the ends were held open by ill fitting pieces of cardboard It didnt help that i only had 7 joke slips for 8 crackers Even had to cut up the ribbon to tie the crackers up myself - just one long piece. Last set i had had the jokes and hats already in the crackers and precut ribbons in a separate bag.

This is a really good idea. However, it would have been easier if the hats and jokes had been in the crackers, they were surprisingly hard to put in! Also one needs to think really carefully about what to put in. It has to be very small and requires great dexterity. The crackers tear quite easily. They seem expensive for empty crackers.
