Ensuring consistent accuracy when rolling out pastry, pizza dough or biscuits this clever beechwood Joseph Joseph rolling pin has colour-coded, interchangeable measuring discs that slot on each end to ensure an even thickness all over.
The rolling pin includes 4 sets of discs for 2mm, 4mm, 6mm and 10mm depth plus measurements along the barrel in mm up to 33cm.

I've used it twice since i bought it. It does roll perfectly even using the interchangeable discs and wipes clean very easily. It feels very solid with its beach wood design and also has measuring lines on the roller. And it feels like its going to last a life time. A rolling pin that ticks all the boxes.
At first I wasn't sure if I should spent over £20 for a rolling pin, but after reading the only review, I decided to give it a try. It's a simple rolling pin with discs to control the thickness and measurement for width, although I haven't figure out how the measurement on the pin works. Overall a rolling pin with no fault. If it lasts, it's definitely worth the money.
Thank you for placing your review. The measure marks on the pin are to accurately guide the size of pastry needed, so for example a 6" strip of pastry would measure from 6" from the left to 6" on the right.
I have used this for rolling clay to perfect thicknesses. I expect it works just as well with pastry in the kitchen!
I'm a Joseph Joseph addict. Their designs and concerts are fab. And they always deliver on quality. I make a lot of cakes, for friends and family, as novelty designs and this has made rolling icing and pastry soooooo much easier. For a big cake it's not quite wide enough but I found removing the rings at one end enabled me to get consistent thickness and roll out a larger piece of fondant
Bought this to roll sugar paste/fondant thinner, but it's not wide enough to cope with an 8" cake + sides, ended up with the discs leaving marks in the fondant. Probably OK for pastry etc. I am now using this regularly to make biscuits and find it really good, just have to roll in smaller batch, even dough every time.
We agree when rolling icing for an 8" diameter cake plus sides as a one piece challenge you'll need a much longer rolling pin. We hope you'll find an alternative to suit your needs.
