"Disappointing results - Poor quality product" star star_border star_border star_border star_border Having carefully followed the instructions I'm afraid the end result was simply undrinkable and I hence was poured down the drain. The poor quality of this product reflects badly on Lakeland. In the interests of customer care, and as a gesture of goodwill, I suggest Lakeland reimburse all of those who have discovered what a total waste of money this product is. support_agent A note from the team We're sorry to hear of the poor results you'd had. We've spoken to our buying team and they've offer some tips that might explain this experience. If you move the bag at all this could have disturbed the yeast and it might not have settled again. The yeast is a natural live product and this does lead to subtle variances in the brewing process. For best results they recommend placing the bag in a warm/ambient environment - around 20oC - 25oC and not to move the bag until the 14 days brewing process is up.Once made the beer should be drunk in 3 weeks, this is because the beer is sitting on top of dead yeast and this can spoil the beer.We hope this goes some way to explain the poor result and will be in touch soon.
"Rubbish" star star_border star_border star_border star_border The instructions were followed to the letter, but the end result was utterly undrinkable. I've just emptied it down the sink. It's such a shame, as I was looking forward to bottling it when it was ready (so we could put it in the back of the car, and take it away on holiday). Sadly, it just never became drinkable. This is a waste of money, and by the looks of these comments the successes stories are quite rare. I'd consider taking this off your shelves, or find a way to massively improve it. support_agent A note from the team I'm sorry to hear that you'd had disappointing results. I'll be in touch shortly.
"Oh dear!" star star_border star_border star_border star_border I home brew often and though I say so myself my beer isnt bad, this looked like fun and good for summer bbq's. What a shame it didnt really live up to the hype, very yeasty, home brewy taste, doesnt keep well at all since your beer is sitting on the old yeast. So maybe this would taste better after some time but you cant find out cos the old yeast spoils it even more. Such a shame, had I thought I could have drawn it off into bottles to age and perhaps improve, as it was most went down the sink. For best chance I would brew it cool and draw off into barrel/bottles when ready. Good luck. support_agent A note from the team Thank you for placing your review. "Very, very disappointing" star star_border star_border star_border star_border This was a present for my husband. We followed the instructions meticulously, being careful to leave the bag in the right environment and not moving it at all. The resulting brew was, (and still is), completely undrinkable. We are about to pour £27.99 down the drain! Sadly, it's not an item that can be returned to you, otherwise it would be in the post now. I'm only giving it 1 star as I cannot give zero. support_agent A note from the team Thank you for placing your review and also taking the time to discuss this with us today. We're sorry the beer kit did not work well and hope any alternatives you try will be much better.
"So easy and great beer. But patience needed...." star star star star star_border After 2 weeks the beer was cloudy but tasted fine. As time went on it became less cloudy and after about 4 weeks was completely clear. Buying another soon!
