I bought this set as I wanted to have an attractive apron to wear when cooking for friends. I found that it was made of very stiff, canvas-like material, but thought that by washing before wear, as suggested, it would soften up a bit. However this did not help much, and means that the rather wide ties are very difficult to do up. I decided to alter instead of return, but felt I shouldn't have to do this on what is quite an expensive item
