Free-standing Bean Slicer

Product number: 3409

Cut clean, uniform 1” slices without going near a knife.

Feed the beans in at one end, turn the handle, and 3 stainless steel blades swiftly do the job. The vacuum 'foot' keeps it securely fixed on your counter top for fast, easy food preparation.

Ideal when freezing, making soups and casseroles, or salads and fresh vegetables - and it's so much easier than chopping by hand.

"super - excellent buy"

Slices runner beans quickly and efficiently. Sticks fast to a chopping board and easy to rinse clean. Surprised being discontinued although original price of £23.99 too expensive for the number of times I would use it!

"Good stuff"

I used this for the first time tonight. It was quicker than I anticipated but you do have to top and tail the beans before hand. I wanted to slice the beans direct into a pan but found I needed an extra pair of hands as you couldn't get the required angle on the pan. If there was a moulded base to fit a pan or the stem was taller so one could fit underneath it would be better, however what a good bit of kit to have in your kitchen!

At first the beans went all over the place. I bought a large washing up bowl put the bean slicer in the bowl placed a tea towel under the bowl and the problem was solved.

Bought recently to help cope with glut of beans. Unfortunately I cannot get it to stick to any worksurface - even tried dining room table! Initially the suction pad seems to work but as soon as I try to slice the beans it it comes free. So unlike Lakeland's usual high standard.

"Bean slicer"

I bought one of these last week and have used it twice. I've managed to cut myself twice too whilst holding the blade in order to put the handle on. The slices of beans are very short and I prefer using the tiny square bean slicer that I have had for years. I'm disappointed with the item, mostly because I think its difficult to put together (sorry) and not particularly easy to clean (sorry again). Lakeland, you are my very favourite shop in the world and I spend a fortune with you but wouldn't recommend this to anyone - although having bought it, I suppose I will continue to use it.
