Rather than faffing around trying to create fancy icing finishes with a palette knife, PME's Patterned Edge Side Scrapers give you a choice of four fantastic finishes with just a few swipes.

What you get in the set:

• Double tooth/scallop/double tooth design
• Triple tooth/flat design
• Continuous toothed design

Shaped edges create stripes

Cover your bake with a generous coating of frosting, buttercream or royal icing and, while it's still soft, hold your chosen scraper vertical and run the shaped edge round your cake. This will leave a series of horizontal stripes around your bake, some standing proud and some recessed, giving it a professional-looking finish with absolutely no effort.

Straight edges give a smooth finish

You could stick with a fancy patterned effect only, but these scrapers are fantastic for creating contrasting colour effects too. Just pipe differently coloured icing into the recessed stripes, then smooth over the whole cake using the straight edge of the scraper to give a perfectly smooth, professional-standard finish.
