"Vanishing numbers" star star_border star_border star_border star_border I bought this thermometer in May this year, around six months ago, and have used it over the summer for jam making. I went to make jam yesterday, and realised that all of the numbers below around 120 c had disappeared. The steel is unmarked. I washed it after having immersed it in jam, and even just a gentle wipe with a cloth seemed to remove the numbers quite easily. There is no use for a thermometer without the measure marks.
