Lakeland Digital Ice Cream Maker 1.8L – Homemade Ice Cream Sorbet & Frozen Yoghurt In 40 Minutes

Product number: 33037

We all love ice cream, that’s a given. But when it’s home-made from scratch, you get all the satisfaction of having made it yourself, with the benefit of knowing exactly what’s gone into it. And with our Digital Ice Cream Maker, you can do it in as little as 40 minutes!

With a transparent lid so you can see the magic happen before your very eyes, it’s a great activity to do with the kids on a rainy day – because who says ice cream is just for sunny days? The easy-to-use LED display makes it really easy to use and the anti-slip base means it won’t travel around your worktop while it’s churning.

How to use

Freeze the bowl for 12 hours in advance, remove from the freezer and then pop on the lid. Ensure your ice cream maker is turned on and use the arrow buttons below the digital display to set the running time between 5 and 45 minutes. Add your cooled ingredients through the opening in the lid, ensuring the paddle is turning whilst the mixture is added. Extra ingredients can be added through the lid during churning. Ice creams, sorbets and frozen yoghurts will be churned to silky-smooth perfection in next to no time.

7 delicious recipes included.

As with all Lakeland electricals, it’s been tested, tested and tested again until we’re confident it’s more than up to the task, is covered by our 3-year guarantee for added reassurance, and is a great price too!

"Value for money"

Bought this on special price. Made the most delicious Strawberry ice cream from basic Cuisnart recipe . Only faff is having to make sure you freeze bowl for at least 12 hours but over night better. Delicious ice cream made. Money worth spent. Little gap to feed is rather small but just put mixture in a glass and pour slowly.

"Takes a long time. Could be better/quicker"

This was bought for me as a gift to replace an old Philips machine that worked the same way. This one is quieter, but not quite as good at freezing the ice cream. I froze the bowl for 24 hours, prechilled the mixture and made a small portion (came less than halfway up the paddle). But after 45 minutes it was still pretty loose. I will try again, but I suspect the problem may be that the paddle isn't quite a perfect fit for the bowl - it doesn't quite reach the edges to scrape the cream on/off the metal surface. The timer stops the motor after 45 mins (max), but I suspect it needs much longer.

"Ice cream maker"

star star star star_border star_border

Product does make ice cream. Finding recipes on the Lakeland blog is not easy and the accompanying leaflet is very limited. It would be helpful to have a variety of recipes to try and the capacity of the machine should be clearly displayed, so machine can be used with confidence.

"Great little ice cream maker"

star star star star star_border

I purchased this at a reduced price but it is a great little machine I made ice cream with my grand daughter and great grandson and we all enjoyed the experience I gave 4 stars as the hole for putting in the ingredients is too small for easy use

"Good machine overall"

The bowl fits into the bottom drawer which is a bit deeper than the others. I noted the other reviews about the hole in the top to add the ingredients and I entirely agree. I used a jug with a larger lip it was OK. I noticed that the recipes for the Vanilla and Strawberry ice cream contain raw egg yolk, which is a worry. I made the Vanilla yesterday I used the ingredients as per the recipe but made a custard, which cooks the yolks, then continued with the recipe. It came out really well and tasted so much better than shop bought. I hope to make the Strawberry one next.
