Quite one of the cutest ways we’ve ever seen to top a cake – a little 3D icing birdhouse, just ready for a couple of little icing lovebirds to move into. Perfect for bird-themed bakes, this Birdhouse Icing Cutter Set has four different cutters, so you can create two different shapes of ‘house’ – so it’s also great for shaping gingerbread houses at Christmas, dog kennels, beach houses for summery bakes, ghost houses at Halloween, garden sheds for any green-fingered friend… if it’s house-shaped, you can build it!
Suitable for use with fondant icing, sugarpaste and modelling paste, just roll out your paste on a non-stick mat, using icing sugar or cornflour to help stop it sticking. Holding the sides of the cutter, place it on top of your paste and press firmly, then lift up the cutter and use a palette knife to lift up your shape. Once they’ve hardened, ‘glue’ the walls, roofs and gable ends together with a little royal icing.
