The red was different to the box but I preferred it as it was a less “orangey” and more of a Christmas red. I was actually planning on adding some more red gel colouring to change the colour. The instructions worked for me and I was really surprised at how well the candy canes came out.

The colour of the modelling paste (included) is dark red and not the bright red as illustrated on the box or the accepted colour of candy canes, much the less Santa Claus!! The directions were not clear and as I was working in my kitchen I was not inclined to go to my office to watch a demonstration as the point of buying this kit was to save time!! I needed to use some of the red fondant paste to complete the candy canes and the colour is what should have been in the modelling paste.
