All these people who say their dough sticks to the banneton, you should be using a low or no-gluten flour for dusting. If you use a regular flour, it will stick. Try semolina, corn or maize flour (not cornflour) or rice flour.

Bought 2 and was a bit worried about the reviews. But if you use a different flour like rice flour there is no problem. I have baked with them 6 times since buying last week and not 1 has got stuck.

This is a perfectly good basket, the dough won't stick if you line the basket with a clean linen tea towel- the type you dry glasses with. Place tea towel in the basket, opened out, not folded, edges hanging over the edge. Thoroughly flour the tea teatowel, I use rye for colour and flavour, then place your shaped loaf in the basket, upside down with the eventual top of the loaf to the bottom of the basket and the seam uppermost. Prove your loaf, then roll out the bread onto a heated baking tray,the top of the loaf is now uppermost, score the top with a lame and bake immediately. Simples!

Recently started making sourdough bread again. Find it easier to do a couple of loaves at a time and already had a round proving basket. Proving basket is easy to prepare for use and to clean after use. Certainly gives your bake a more authentic, professional appearance.

I wouldn’t recommend this product. If there had been a zero rating, that’s what I would have given. Endless times this product has been used (I actually purchased two) and the dough is always glued to the sides. This obviously release the air and flattens the dough as you have to prise it away. Nothing more infuriating after spending time on sour dough making and this happens. Unfortunately for me, I didn’t keep the receipt and paid by cash. Therefore no credit for me and a waste of my hard earned a cash.
