3D Silicone Space Cake Mould

Product number: 32519

5…4…3…2…1… we have lift off! Of a whole sky full of out-of-this-world bakes, thanks to our 3D Silicone Space Cakes Mould. Turning out a beautifully detailed Earth, Moon, ringed planet, alien, astronaut and rocket ship, they’re just what little extra-terrestrial fans have been waiting for!

Easy to use

Simply fill the bottom half of the silicone baking mould (the one without little holes in) with your cake mix, place the other half on top and, as they bake in the oven, your cakes will rise up and fill in all the detail in the top mould as well as the bottom.

Releases detailed bakes easily

Naturally non-stick silicone is fantastic when it comes to easy food release – just press up on the bottom of each individual mould to pop out your bakes with all the detail perfectly preserved – and it also makes this mould easy to clean, too.

Steel frame for extra stability

The hidden steel frame around the rim helps the mould to keep its shape, so that each space cake turns out perfectly every time. It also makes it easier to get in and out of the oven and move from countertop to cooker to cooling rack without wobbling around the way unreinforced silicone bakeware can.

Other features

  • Dishwasher safe for easy clean-up.
  • Oven safe up to 230°C.
  • Microwave and freezer safe.
  • Free from BPA, PFOA and PTFE
.

"Great fun, work well!"

star star star star star

I’m not much of a baker but my son was bought this mould as a gift and has been desperate to try it. I wasn’t optimistic but we were delighted with the results! I used 4oz each of butter, sugar and flour with 3 eggs, seems almost exactly right. Most rose right to the top and a couple were just shy. If I’d have scraped the bowl more thoroughly they would all have been just right. Highly recommended!

"For one little star gazer"

This is a superb way of making exciting goodies for my budding astronaut.

"intergalactic fun"

The moulds work well and the finished result is fun. The cardboard instructions are incomplete, had to look online. I used the dinosaur blog cake recipe to fit the moulds, but it didn't make enough cake mix. So in the end I used 100g each of butter and sugar (cream together), mix in two eggs, then add in 100g SR flour and 100g cocoa powder in an oven at 180f for 20 minutes. The end result is really good but unusually for Lakeland the instructions were lacking which took me additional time to work out. I'd suggest a practise run before you make these for real.

"Cakes stuck despite being silicone"

I bought this mould to make fun birthday cakes for my space-loving friend. The first time I used it, the baked mixture stick to the mould and made a mess of the details. Thinking this was because I hadn't greased the mould - did not think I needed to as it is silicone - second time I did grease it. The same thing happened; the sponge cakes would not come out without breaking up. My friend also tried it and had the same issue. Very disappointed as a good fun piece of bakeware. It is now to be used as a soap mould instead.

Thank you for your review. We're sorry to hear this didn't work well for you and we've passed your comments along. We'd recommend greasing the mould.
