Bake-and-Build 3D Lion Cookie Cutter

Product number: 32377

Just the thing to bring some fun to baking sessions with your little ‘helpers’, our 3D Lion Cookie Cutter stamps out a bake-and-build roarsome cookie king of the jungle, all ready to play with – sorry, eat.

Easy-to-use, one-press cutter

Rather than having to store (and probably lose) nine individual cutters, you get a single, large one that cuts out all the pieces in one go. Just dust your work surface, then roll out gingerbread or cookie dough – it needs to be quite thin so it doesn’t spread too much when it bakes, as this will make it harder to slot the finished pieces together. Then place the cutter over the top, press down evenly all over the surface, and lift up. You might have to use a decorating tool to gently remove the dough from the cutter, but you’ll end up with nine detailed shapes ready to be transferred to a baking tray.

Bake, build and decorate

Once the pieces of your lion have baked and cooled, you can decorate them with some yellow-for-the-body, brown-for-the-mane icing. Then simply slot them together to create your majestic beast, ready to lope across the African plains – or your kitchen countertop. All that’s left to do after that is persuade everyone that they want to eat it, rather than play with it!

And if they love this, there are 3D Giraffe and Elephant Cutters available too, so you can create a mouth-watering menagerie.

Full step-by-steps included.

"Fun Times with this cutter"

star star star star star

This biscuit cutter is so good to use. Ideal for the children or grandchildren to enjoy making, especially on those rainy days. It takes a but of thought and care but the end results are super. I use a butter biscuit base so that there is a bit of strength in the biscuit which is reinforced when it is iced. It's a great novelty to have on the table. I have others and will be using them for themed tea parties for the children. Really worth purchasing. Easy to clean and a little file comes with the cutter in case you need to gently shape and rough edges.

Our buying team have provided the following tips: When rolling the dough please ensure the side is well floured, so under the dough you have movement. Push firmly on the dough and transfer each cut out piece to a tray covered in baking paper/mat. Once cooked remove and immediately trim the slot joints. BE CAREFUL! One push or fast movement too many and it can break. Just be gentle and take your time. You will have enough time whilst the biscuits are still hot/warm. TIP: I used a knife to trim in straight lines. Cool completely before attempting assembly. Once you begin to assemble, you may find some slots still aren't right, this is when you can file, but again you have to be very gentle. Most of all remember to have fun when creating these biscuits, they are not as quick and really not as easy as simple cutters, but they are supposed to look technical and will make you look like a baking whizz!

Wasnt as easy as it looked. I used nigella's iced biscuit recipe which expanded a bit when cooked, making it hard to connect the pieces. The tool to file the edges didnt help. I will try again with a different recipe and hopefully produce a lion next time!
