Sprucing up a simple bake into a winter wonderland or festive forest, this Pine Trees Skyline Chocolate Mould is an oh-so elegant way to finish off a Christmassy cake or Yule log with a gorgeously simple Scandi look. And mmm, just look at all that chocolate… I’ll have the trees on the left. And the ones on the right. And all the ones in the middle.

Oh Christmas trees, oh Christmas trees, how lovely (and easy to make) are your branches! Made from plastic, this sturdy mould is really easy to use. Simply melt your chosen chocolate and pour it in, then leave it to set in the fridge. Once it’s hardened, it’s ready to be slotted into the top of a chocolate log, or you could lay it on the top of a festive traybake.

Build up in different colours of chocolate

To make more of the layered look, add chocolate carefully to the bottom/foreground layer of trees and leave it to set, then repeat with different colours of chocolate for the middle and background layers, so you end up with a three-tone forest of white, milk and dark chocolate trees.

Or try with fondant icing or sugarpaste

This mould works well with fondant icing and sugarpaste too – just dust with icing sugar before pressing your chosen colour into the mould, then place in the fridge to harden up. We like the idea of a simple Nordic-style finish using snowy white, or you could swirl a little green through white to create a snow-dappled forest scene.
