A good bake deserves a reliable base, but some cake boards can be sadly lacking, so our Kitchenware Buyer Veronica set out to find a really top quality, rigid cake board that didn’t cost the earth… This extra-strong round cake board has a core made from MDF rather than cardboard, so you can trust it won’t bend when it’s time to transport your precious bake.

At just 3mm thick it’ll sit discreetly below a birthday cake, or between the layers of a tiered cake, where it will provide unwavering support, and as it’s finished with grease-resistant paper it can even be wiped clean and reused with care.

Doubles as a serving platter or place mat

Here at Lakeland we love a product that does more than one thing, and we didn’t struggle to find alternative uses for this board. It’s both strong and attractive enough to serve as a (single-use) serving platter for canapés or as a cheeseboard, and would even make an attractive place mat for the dinner table.
