Cake decorators make it all look so easy, don’t they, as they mould and shape and arrange fancy sugarcraft decorations across their beautiful bakes… but if you’re not quite at professional standard (or like us, complete novices!) and want a quick, easy, effortless way to dress up bakes for special occasions, this Pop It Pad is your gateway to a whole host of impressively detailed decorations that you’ll view with pride – and your guests will look on with envy.

How it works

Designed to be used with a wide range of Pop It icing moulds, this simple foam pad with its array of holes doesn’t look like much, we’ll grant you that, but it gives you a great foundation to start creating your decorations.

Just slot the base of your chosen Pop It mould (we sell a selection) into one of the holes to hold it steady, press your chosen sugarpaste or firm fondant icing firmly into place, then roll over the top with a rolling pin to create a flat bottom to your decoration and cut off any excess icing. Gently remove your decoration from the mould – they all have internal detail that creates a lovely debossed or embossed effect – and they’re ready to sit prettily atop your bakes. Then just hide all the evidence that you’re not a master sugar craftsman after all, and ready yourself for some ‘oohs’ and ‘aahs’ as you present your masterpiece.
