Quick, easy way to decorate cakes

Rather than faffing around trying to manually ice or frost a cake with evenly-spaced stripes, this clever double-edged side scraper lets you give a simply iced bake a fantastic frosted finish with just a few swipes. Here’s how it works…

Toothed design creates stripes

Cover your bake with a generous coating of frosting, chocolate or royal icing and, while it’s still soft, hold the scraper vertical and run the toothed edge round your cake – it’s made from clear acrylic so it’s easy to see through it to help keep your hand steady and the patterns level. This will leave a series of horizontal stripes around your bake, some standing proud and some recessed. Then you’re ready for the next step…

Straight edge gives smooth finish

Once you’re happy that the stripes are even, pipe icing of a contrasting colour in the recessed stripes, then smooth over the whole cake using the straight edge of the scraper to give a perfectly smooth, evenly striped, professional-standard finish.
