"Change of mind" star star star star star My original Lakeland yoghurt maker no longer worked after many years of heavy use. I ordered a replacement and was upset that they had been discontinued. The replacement was digital, looked more complicated than the trusty original one which was so straightforward. However, I relented and against better judgement, bought the latest model from Lakeland, upset that it appeared that everything goes ‘digital’ when there is nothing wrong with the previous design. I am so glad I did. This item is pleasing to look at, easy to wash, not at all complicated and I swear the yoghurt is even nicer.
"Works really well" star star star star star Been using this for more than a year, once or twice a week, and I find it works really well. However,it would be nice if there was some way of storing the power cable - such as hooks on the back or a ridge on the base you could wrap the cable around.
"Question about Greek Yoghurt" star star star star star_border I really like this product and find it easy to use. When making greek style yoghurt however, I seem to end up with very little yoghurt and lots of whey. The consistency is like a shop bought Greek style, not as thick as a branded type and so I wouldn’t want to add any of the whey back into the yoghurt. Any ideas where I might be going wrong? Thanks. support_agent A note from the team Thank you for your review. We're pleased you find this yoghurt maker easy to use. When making cheese or Greek style yoghurt you don't add any of the whey back into the yoghurt. You can place it in a freezer for 6-10 hours for a thicker taste.
"Poor temperature control" star star_border star_border star_border star_border I wanted to make yogurt from bacteria of different optimum temperatures. I thought that this would be suitable. That was 4yrs ago. Sometimes I was successful. Usually, not. I assumed that the fault was mine. That is until I tried using a chem lab water bath that held temperature to within a degree. I was successful every time. So, I measured the temperature of the fermenter. No matter what my starting temperature, it just kept going up until it got to 59' over a period of 5hrs. So, the outcome depended on when I took it out. I dont mind wasting £30 but I do resent wasting 4yrs of my life. support_agent A note from the team Thank you for your review. We're sorry to hear this yoghurt maker hasn't worked well for your usage needs. It does make a variety of yoghurts with the recipes included in the booklet - we've sent you an email to help further.
"A brilliant piece of kitchen kit!" star star star star star Straightforward to use, easy to store, and makes really delicious yoghurt/Greek yogurt/cream cheese, and the yoghurts make a very good substitute for cream. Grandchildren loved helping with the process, and gobbled up the result. Definitely a winner, and at a good price.
