I bought this for one of my daughters. She was thrilled with it and made some waffles for my other daughter to try. She liked it so much she now wants me to buy her one for Christmas. The waffle maker is easy to use and makes good vegan or non-vegan waffles. They are delicious and come out as neat finger waffles. We've not had any difficulty cleaning it.
I've used this little waffle maker a couple of times now and was really pleased with the results. It does however have a flaw in that if your waffle mixture overflows at all, as they quite often do when cooking, then the mixture drips down and goes in between the hotplate and the bottom plastic casing which makes it impossible to clean as you can't remove the casing to get to the overflowed mixture. I wish I had kept the box for this as I would have returned it for this reason alone. It's a shame as it does produce lovely waffles, but I won't be using it again as it's too hard to clean!
Thanks for taking the time to give us your feedback, I'm sorry to hear of the problem you had with the mixture spilling out. The instructions do advise - Add a generous spoonful of batter to the moulds and spread slightly with a spatula. It is important not to overfill, as the mixture will expand when baked. Just ensure there is enough waffle batter to fill the base of the plates, this way you will get a good sized well risen waffle stick. I'll be in touch shortly.
Thought this waffle maker would be perfect but I am regretting purchasing it now. I have tried it several times and every time I use it , the mixture overflows. Each time I put much less mixture in and it still overflows. As for cleaning the machine , it’s not easy, where the mixture has overflowed , it’s gone in the gaps between the waffle plates, under the clasp that keeps it closed and around the outside of the machine. I also find it difficult to open the machine without burning myself, you have to be very careful lifting the lid. On a positive note, it does make a nice waffle.

My daughter was given this waffle maker for Christmas - we have tried 3 times, granted the waffles are good, but the mess and cleaning of baked on waffles batter is awful to try and remove and very tricky as it's electrical so you need to be careful with the water. I would say 'don't buy' - very disappointed this isn't Lakeland standard (i would have expected the practical side to work alongside the cooking outcomes.....it's why I trust Lakeland as a brand).
To make it easier to clean a plastic / non -metallic utensil can be used to scrape away any mix left over, the plates can then be cleaned with a damp cloth. For hardened batter a small amount of oil can be poured on, allowed to set for 5 minutes and then the remains can be easily wiped off. Additionally, the cooking plates can be conditioned with oil before each use.
