The high lift (after browning) feature moved the toast a further one centimetre (yes, I measured it) - was it worth it? Makes no difference whatsoever. Disappointing. Mind you when the toast is done the spring is so fierce it almost pops out of the toaster. Toast browns well enough and there is plenty of space for thick slices or bagels but when you spend £50 on a toaster you would expect all the functions to be top notch.

Disappointing. I bought this toaster because after having the Avanti, I thought that this was the next best thing. I have given it three stars because as a toaster it does a perfectly good job. However a toaster that costs a quarter of the price can also do a good job of toasting bread. The reason I paid the extra was for the high lift feature which can be useful for getting out those fiddly pieces of toast. The high lift feature does not actually work and only elevates the bread by approximately 0.5 cm, which is totally useless. I would return this item if I could.

There are two major problems with this toaster which I purchased at the Chichester branch: a) The heat-setting has to be on maximum to produce even a lightly cooked piece of toast. b) The high-lift feature is good for a quarter of an inch and is therefore totally useless. There are also no operating instructions. This product does not do what it is supposed to and therefore I rate this 'one' star only.
