Lakeland Easy-Store Food Slicer

Saw this advertised and (simply because of Lakeland's 'satisfaction guarantee' ) I thought I would give it a try. So far I have only used it to slice bread but am very pleased with ease of use and ease of cleaning - the blade is so easily removed for this purpose. I bake my bread using a Panasonic Bread Maker (bought from Lakeland) and initially found that the loaves are far too high for this blade. Soon sorted - I simply put the loaf on its side and the blade is able to cope admirably. Very happy with my purchase.

Very useful as with my "problem" left hand sometimes using a knife is tricky and hazardous. This is great and slices like a dream ~ meat, hot and cold; cheese; bread; corned beef; and cabbage for cole slaw!

I got this for my missus, under duress, who is extremely accident prone. I needn't have worried, a five year old could use this without hurting themselves and it fold away for easy storage. A good and useful machine. David

This is highly recommended by us if only to slice our home made bread. First time we have used it - on a white loaf. Sure it will perform well with other mixes. Certainly can't get anywhere near this result with the hand slicing method. Slices are very even and just the right thickness.

I bought this to slice my loaves made with the Panasonic bread maker (also bought from Lakeland) and it works a treat although it doesn't do really thick toastie slices.. It also works very well on the Sunday roast and I've been pleased with the machine over all. My only complaint about it is that it is rather difficult to clean as small pieces of bread/meat collect in the part where it folds for storage and of course, you can't immerse it. I've found a flat pastry brush useful for this.
