I saw this item in the catalogue and thought what a good idea. Then read the reviews, this almost put me off, but I am so glad that I decided to buy it. As long as you read the instructions there is no problem and it works beautifully. It does what is says on the pack and crushes cans very easily.
Apprehensive at first it took only a few minutes to use the crusher properly. Very important to get the punch set properly then its a dream. I actually enjoy using the machine it crushes steel cans with ease. A great buy.
Crushes all types of can easily and fully. The pictures on the carton and shown for the product are a little misleading, it works best if the can to be crushed is inserted with the closed end nearer the hinge. This allows the adjustable screw to pierce the can at its strongest point, hold the can in place and the action of the hinge then crushes the can fully without it slipping out.
This is brilliant - it really manages to squash those super solid tins (even works well on the little tuna ones which I would have thought might slip off to the side - but they didn't!). Very pleased as it means I am not at the recycling centre so often any more.
In a football crazy house with an unbelievable number of cans consumed on match day this item is a must. I now don't have to make midnight runs to the recycling section of the supermarket carpark as I can not only get 2 weeks worth of cans in the 'green box'. Really easy to use - I don't know what the other reviews were doing with the product - buy one, you won't be disappointed and it is worth the money.
