Lakeland Square Dry Food Storage Container 460ml

I purchased one of these to use for storing loose leaf tea. This is the perfect size for 100gms of tea, the lid removes very easily and I can fit 2 high in my cupboard. Yes, I liked it so much I went back and bought a second one. Other reviewers have commented about washing the lids but storing tea doesn't get the lid dirty so I can't comment on that. I would have bought 8 more of these, including some of the larger size which are only £2 more for twice the storage, so I could retire my old tea bag tins but they are a tad expensive so I will watch out for a sale.

I like the size of this container, and tested it full of water, as I thought it would be a good size to keep a portion of soup in. The box is airtight once the lid is clipped down to seal. The biggest drawback, is when washing the lid, water gets under the seal into the space of the top. Takes a long time to air dry out.

I love the fact that this container is sturdy, looks contemporary and will stack easily. I stored crackers in it and they kept lovely and fresh. The negatives are annoying. I washed it before use. It was obvious that the gap between the seal and the top part of the lid allowed water to get in that wasn't easy to dry. I left it overnight to dry out before using it for dry goods. The chunky lid and positive seal that look so appealing take up space inside the container, reducing its capacity. I wanted to give it a higher rating, but was swithering over an even lower rating.

The lids are internally complicated so take a long time to thoroughly air dry after hand washing and I suspect that the dishwasher would leave them with water in the cavity also. They are reasonably stackable, although the base of the upper does not fit snuggly into the lid of the lower box, allowing possible slippage. The container is compact bit surprisingly spacious and is a neat and tidy design. My planned use is tea and coffee supplies in our caravan where storage space is at a premium and I think they will be up to the job.

So pleased with this handy size storage jar. Really handy and is definitely airtight. Highly recommended
