Dreamfarm Flegg - set of 2

Product number: 27225

Plate up the perfect egg with this ingenious little gadget. Deceptively simple and effective, the Flegg will transform busy weekday mornings and lazy Sunday brunches. Quick, tasty, fuss-free eggs that look fantastic, with no waste or mess to clean up: what's not to love? And with two fabulous Fleggs at your disposal, you can whip up tasty brekkies in a jiffy.

Lift, flip and serve

Simply pop the Flegg in your frying pan, crack in an egg, and let the magic happen! Fancy ‘sunny side up'? Don't flip it, just lift it when it's done and squeeze the handle to release a flawless egg. Prefer ‘over easy'? Lift the Flegg, rotate the handle to cook the other side, then squeeze the egg onto your slice of toasted sourdough.

No leaks and non-stick

The Flegg cleverly seals itself against the surface of your pan, so you'll have no leaky yolk to clean up. Enjoy the whole egg, with no waste. And because it's made of silicone, the Flegg is non-stick and suitable for use in all types of pans.

Stores flat

After cleaning by hand or in your dishwasher, drop the handle and store your Flegg flat in the drawer.

"Awful. Just not fit for purpose"

star star_border star_border star_border star_border

Such a shame, was excited to try this... Cooked over a low heat, as suggested, waited until almost cooked, as suggested. Outcome...either just falls through or sticks to the ring. Way too over engineered and the faffing makes it much easier to just fry an egg in a pan! Terrible waste of money and time.

"Great idea which fails miserably"

star star_border star_border star_border star_border

The concept is good but it does not work. The egg mostly sticks to the inside of the ring or on the pan. The makers told me that it needs to be done at low heat, which I tried several times with the same abysmal result, even with a new non stick pan.. Slow cooking for up to 5 minutes or more for a fried egg is not acceptable even if it works... One star rating is more than it deserves.

Thank you for your review. We're sorry to hear this hasn't met your expectations. We'd advise to put these on a low heat and only flip when the egg is almost fully cooked, very little white left to be cooked. Oiling does help, but you have to be careful not to over oil or the egg can slip out when trying to turn. We've been in touch to offer a refund.

"Just doesn’t work if you like a runny egg yolk!"

star star_border star_border star_border star_border

Like other customers I have tried using this a number of times but it just doesn’t work for me or our Scottish “large” eggs are too big! The yellow ring needs to be a least an inch wider so that the white cooks sufficiently before you attempt to flip it over. The size of the yellow ring makes the egg white too deep to cook enough before you flip it. As it is, even on a lower heat, the whole egg needs to be solid before you flip it. I prefer my yolks to be runny but no matter how hard I’ve tried to vary the cooking, sadly it just doesn’t work for me. Very disappointed with this device!

"Flegg"

This product just does not work. Tried in different saucepans and with different levels of oil but just does not hold the egg. Very disappointing..

Oiling does help, but you have to be careful not to over oil or the egg can slip out when trying to turn. We’d advise to cooker the egg on a lower heat for longer than normal to allow the egg to fluff up, flip only when the egg is almost fully cooked, then the Flegg will hold the egg.

"Dreamfarm Flegg"

I bought this thinking it was the answer to perfect fried eggs. I have tried it in several pan's, even buying a new frying pan and following instructions to the letter but this product just does not do what it says it should. Egg oozes out at the bottom no matter how hot your pan, it doesn't get set enough to flip unless you want a rock hard egg. I am afraid mine has gone in the recycling. First Lakeland product I have ever bought that just doesn't work

support_agent A note from the team

We’re very sorry to hear it didn't meet your expectations and will be in touch to sort it for you. Our supplier has said that : "There are a couple of ways to use the Flegg, but overall, the Flegg is designed to be used on a low(er) heat, with longer cooking times to create that burger-style egg that's super easy to flip. On a low heat, it's best to cook the egg until you're able to slide the Flegg with the egg inside easily around the pan before trying to pick it up or flip it. If it's falling through, it has not been cooked long enough to fluff up and solidify at the base before flipping or serving. Another way to use the Flegg is to keep it again on a low heat for longer, with just a little bit of water in the pan. Cover it up with a lid until you're able to easily slide the Flegg around, and it will fluff up enough to flip and/or serve right away.
